Chuck DuChon and Jim Rattigan aka Rat
For those of you who may never have met them, Jim and Chuck were best friends. They worked at the Goddard Space Flight Center and were active long-term members of Goddard and PG County Softball leagues. Both Jim and Chuck were sports enthusiasts, with interests in most every sport (softball, baseball, hockey, golf, etc.) Unfortunately, Rat and Chuck passed away prematurely. Chuck passed away from bone cancer at the age of 48 in 2005; he is survived by his wife Sara and daughters Kelli and Allie. Jim passed away from pulmonary fibrosis at the age of 50 in 2003; he is survived by his wife Joan and daughters, Katie and Janice. Their families and friends are grateful to be able to use this tournament as a fitting way to keep their memories alive.

Over the past 20 years, this Tournament has donated a total of $191,400 to charities in the name of Chuck and Jim. The American Cancer Society has received $87,950. The American Diabetes Association has received $46,050. The American Lung Association has received $48,000. The Fisher House Foundation has received $6,000. The Bowie Golf Club has received $3300.
